Surface Exposure Dating
Intenede Learning Outcomes:
1. Evaluate the suitability of glacial landforms, terraces, and alluvial fans for cosmogenic surface exposure dating by considering factors such as erosion, inheritance, and exposure geometry.
2. Analyze how different geomorphological processes, such as glacial erosion, sediment transport, and post-depositional disturbance, influence cosmogenic nuclide concentrations and exposure age calculations.
3. Interpret case study data, such as the Amery Ice Shelf example, to identify potential sources of age discrepancies and assess the impact of geomorphic processes on surface exposure dating results.
